Kevin K. Jones is a registered patent attorney, focusing on patent preparation, procurement, and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications in the computer software and electrical arts areas. Mr. Jones’ emphasis is in wireless networking, operating systems, mobile and handheld devices, cloud computing, information security, e-commerce, image analysis, resource management, virtualization technology, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, gaming, radio-frequency identification, medical imaging equipment, GPS technology, and xerographic marking devices.
Representing companies ranging from large Fortune 100 Corporations to small start-ups, Mr. Jones guides clients in the development and leveraging of technology. He works closely with in-house counsel and patent examiners to ensure his clients receive the broadest claim scope possible, while being cognizant of expenses and future litigation.
Regularly, Mr. Jones assists clients with patent portfolio acquisitions and analysis, patent landscaping, and patent monetization. He also prepares patent validity opinions, patent infringement opinions, freedom-to-operate opinions.
Mr. Jones is a frequent speaker, and recent presentations have included “Intellectual Property and Business Planning, Rockhurst University and “Patent Trolls”, Association of Corporate Counsel. Additional topics include “Optimizing Patent Prosecution”, “Examiner Interviews”, and “Patent Prosecution Strategies”.
Mr. Jones is a member of The Missouri Bar, Kansas Bar Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the National Native American Bar Association (NNABA). Mr. Jones is admitted to practice in Missouri, Kansas, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
